Return Information

The Right Product at the Right Price

Our goal is to get you the right product at the right price, so there should never be any reason for you to return an item... :>) ...Just kidding. Of course, we understand that you may need to return an item from time to time, but here are a couple suggestions for minimizing your chance of needing to return an item.

  1. If you are not sure what item you need, please contact us before you order at questions@reefgeek.com or toll-free at 866-295-9230 and we would be happy to help you figure out what you need.
  2. If you can’t get an item working and need assistance, please contact us at customercare@reefgeek.com or toll-free at 866-295-9230 and we will do everything we can to assist you in getting the item(s) working correctly.

Return Policy

Prior to shipping any item(s) back, please contact us at customercare@reefgeek.com or toll-free at 866-295-9230, so that we can issue a Return Authorization (RA) number as any unauthorized or incomplete returns will not be accepted. Please write the RA number we issue you clearly and conspicuously on the outside of the return packaging, so we can identify your return when it arrives back at our facility.

Return of Brand New Items:

You may return any brand new item(s) to us within 30 days from the date of shipping for store credit or refund less any discounts and shipping and handling charges. Return shipping to us is typically at your own expense. Clearance items, special order items, built-to order items and custom items typically cannot be returned.

In order to receive a full store credit or refund of your original purchase price, the item(s) being returned must meet the following conditions. If any of these conditions are not met, a restocking fee of 15% or more may apply.

The item(s) must be…

  1. unused.
  2. in its original packaging which must also be in new condition with any factory seals still intact.
  3. 100% complete with all parts and accessories, warranty and registration cards, instructions, special packaging and anything else originally sent with the item included.
  4. packed carefully (pack it just like we sent it to you) and insured for its full value as we are not liable for any shipping damages.
  5. mailed with a valid Return Authorization number (RA#) marked clearly on the outside of the shipping box.

Once we receive and inspect the item(s), per the conditions outlined above, we will issue a refund or store credit for the original retail value of the item(s)less any discounts and shipping and handling charges. Any refund will be applied to the payment method used for the original purchase.

We process credits and refunds just a couple times per week, so it can take several business days for you to see a credit or refund after the item(s) is received. If you need your credit or refund expedited, please contact us at customercare@reefgeek.com or toll-free at 866-295-9230.

Return of Defective Items:

Even if you don’t plan to use it right away, please inspect all items and test all electrical equipment and light bulbs at the time of delivery because warranty coverage begins from the date of purchase not from the date of first use. In the unlikely event you receive defective merchandise, please contact us a soon as possible at customercare@reefgeek.com or toll-free at 866-295-9230 and we will do everything we can to assist you in getting the item(s) working correctly.

If we still can’t get the item(s) working correctly and the item(s) was shipped less than 30 days ago, we can typically take the item(s) back and exchange it for the same item or provide a store credit or refund less any discounts and shipping and handling charges. After 30 days from the date of shipping, most items need to be returned directly to the manufacturer for repair or replacement.

Some manufacturers require that you deal with them directly even if the item was shipped less than 30 days ago. If this is the case we will work with you and the manufacturer to insure that your defective item(s) is replaced as quickly as possible.

Any defective item(s) being returned to us must meet the following conditions. If any of these conditions are not met, we may have to refuse the package and return the defective item back to you. A restocking fee of 15% or more may also apply.
